Are there IKEA Platsa units with soft-close drawers?
I am currently considering getting a setup with the Platsa furniture system from IKEA and want to pay special attention to the quality and comfort of the drawers. Since a soft-close feature is very convenient, especially in homes with children, and not only allows drawers to close quietly but also helps extend the lifespan of the furniture parts, I am interested to know if IKEA offers this feature as standard for Platsa drawers or possibly as an accessory.
Does anyone have experience with this? Are there official versions with soft-close mechanisms, or are there recommended retrofit solutions? I would also like to know if perhaps only certain Platsa modules or drawer models include this feature, or if you generally have to work with the classic drawer slides. Thanks for any helpful comments—I look forward to a more detailed discussion on this topic.

However, there are universal soft-close dampers on the market that you can fairly easily install with screws.I can only agree with that. It is possible, but you should be prepared that installation can be a bit fiddly. Especially with Platsa, the internal dimensions of the drawers are sometimes not ideal for these retrofit solutions. Pay attention to the height and width, otherwise, there may be issues with the fronts.
My advice: If soft-close is a key criterion, it’s better to look directly at other IKEA series or alternatives.
