Hello everyone, I am currently planning to assemble a large PAX wardrobe system from IKEA and would like to know if there are any special tips to consider when putting together large and complex PAX wardrobes. Specifically, I am interested in advice on how to best prepare the modules before assembly, if there are any tricks for securely fixing the wardrobes to the wall, and whether there are important details to consider when planning the interior layout to ensure everything is stable and optimally used later on. I would really appreciate your experiences and recommendations!

For drywall partitions, special heavy-duty anchors are recommended.

That’s an important point! I would like to add that, whenever possible, it’s advisable to fix fixtures to load-bearing walls or at least to the wall studs. This provides additional security. Even if you’re unsure during installation, consulting a professional is definitely a wise choice. Especially with large or very heavy cabinets, the risk should not be underestimated.

When assembling large PAX wardrobes, I always made sure to fully put together the modules on site rather than combining separate parts later. In my opinion, this improves stability. It is also important not to concentrate too many heavy components in one area of the interior fittings. Step stools or tables nearby for working at higher levels are also helpful. As a final tip, I recommend carefully following the IKEA instructions, as there are various special details in the large PAX sets that could easily be overlooked.
