Hello!

Earlier, we started assembling a Pax wardrobe with hinged doors (Fardal), 1.50m wide (5 feet) and 2.01m high (6 feet 7 inches).
Overall, everything went pretty well, but adjusting the doors is driving us crazy!

Here’s the problem:
The door on the far left is crooked. The other two doors next to it seem to be aligned at the same height.
To illustrate, I took some photos showing the “tilt” of the door at the upper part of the wardrobe.

I already adjusted the screw on the hinge for lateral alignment, but this only changes the vertical gap between the adjacent door. Unfortunately, the tilt at the top does not change.

Maybe someone can help me. Thanks in advance!

Best regards,

Hi!
I would first align the doors to the side panels of the cabinet.
If the doors are standing crooked, then the base is uneven.
If you have a spirit level, place it on the cabinet and, if necessary, adjust the cabinet using wooden or plastic shims.

PAX has height-adjustable feet, so there is no need to place anything underneath.
If the gap between the doors changes when adjusting, either getting larger or smaller overall, turn the screws on all hinges by the same amount. To change the tilt, for example, only loosen the screw on the upper hinge and tighten the one on the lower hinge.
The cabinet frame itself can also be slightly misaligned. Before nailing on the PAX back panel, make sure to check that the corners are exactly square.
Do not set up a cabinet without a spirit level. If you don’t have one, buy one (not too short), as it will always come in handy.

Thanks in advance for your answers!

I took a closer look and noticed that the door is not aligned evenly with the side panel. This is probably causing the misalignment at the top as well.
A possibly silly question: How do I align the door with the side of the cabinet? Adjusting the screws on the hinge doesn’t seem to make any difference, does it?
The other two doors fit perfectly right after installation...

I don’t have a spirit level at hand at the moment, but I’ll try to get one today.

Maybe a slightly silly question: How do I align the door on the side panel of the cabinet? You can’t really adjust anything with the screws on the hinge, right?

Actually, as I described, you can. But if the door is now aligned flush with the other door, and that one is flush with the next, and then with the side panel, the tilted door will fit properly against the side panel but no longer align with the neighboring door. In this case, I would first gently press and pull on the upper corners of the cabinet and observe what happens with the doors.

PAX has height-adjustable legs, so no additional shimming is needed.

WARNING: The legs are only meant to assist with leveling. The sides must always be supported if the floor is uneven. The side panels of the cabinet are the load-bearing components, not the floor.

If the floor breaks due to unsupported side panels, this is not covered by warranty and is considered user error.
