Hello everyone, I am currently organizing my new Ikea PAX wardrobe and would like to know specifically which Ikea shoe inserts fit into the PAX units. Since PAX comes in different widths and depths, I am particularly interested in compatible recommendations for the common 50 cm (20 inches) and 100 cm (39 inches) wide wardrobes. Are there standardized inserts that fit well and also match the PAX in terms of material or design? What exact dimensions should I pay attention to, and does anyone have experience with how the inserts perform with heavier shoes, such as leather ones? Thanks in advance for your tips!
Thanks for the feedback so far! The cabinet depth is actually quite important to me. I’ve noticed that my Pax cabinets have a depth of 35cm (14 inches) because of limited space. Are there definitely no suitable IKEA insert systems available for this shallower depth? Or would I be more likely to find solutions from external suppliers? Also, do any of you have insights on how durable a SKUBB insert is over time when used with leather shoes? That part is still unclear to me.

SKUBB fits in PAX 50x58 cm (20x23 inches), officially there is nothing from Ikea for 35 cm (14 inches) depth.I can confirm that. Ikea currently does not offer specific shoe inserts for the narrower 35 cm (14 inches) deep PAX units. The SKUBB series and Bredskär are designed for the standard depth.
Regarding load capacity, SKUBB inserts are made of fabric with a thin steel frame. For leather shoes, which tend to be heavier, this is usually sufficient if you limit the load to a few pairs per insert. However, in terms of quality, they are definitely not intended for extremely heavy loads or high stress.

Ikea does not offer a 35 cm (14 inches) depth option, so I recommend custom-made shelf inserts or affordable universal shoe racks that can simply be placed inside.
It's interesting that both load capacity and depth are limited with the Ikea solutions. Considering this, I'm thinking about using different solutions within the PAX system during planning: for example, sturdy wooden shelves at the lower section and lighter SKUBB organizers higher up for less heavy shoes. Has anyone tried this mixed approach and can share their experience?

Has anyone tried this kind of hybrid and can share their experience?I have implemented a similar combination myself. Thicker wooden shelves with reinforced boards at the bottom, and SKUBB boxes for lighter shoes on top. This setup works well because the heavier shoes are stored securely, while the SKUBB boxes remain easily accessible. The only limitation is that you need some flexibility with the shelf heights to ensure everything fits properly.
