Hello!
Earlier, we started assembling a Pax wardrobe with hinged doors (Fardal), 1.50m wide (5 feet) and 2.01m high (6 feet 7 inches).
Overall, everything went pretty well, but adjusting the doors is driving us crazy!
Here’s the problem:
The door on the far left is crooked. The other two doors next to it seem to be aligned at the same height.
To illustrate, I took some photos showing the “tilt” of the door at the upper part of the wardrobe.
I already adjusted the screw on the hinge for lateral alignment, but this only changes the vertical gap between the adjacent door. Unfortunately, the tilt at the top does not change.
Maybe someone can help me. Thanks in advance!
Best regards,
tim21

IKEA-Experte2 Aug 2012 11:521. Important product features
- Adjustable feet for high stability.
2. Seeing the problems some people have during assembly, you can’t assume a general technical understanding.
3. Does Pax have less than the 18 IKEA millimeters? My Faktum carcasses have 2 cam connector fittings and 3 wooden dowels. According to the assembly instructions, Pax has 3 cam connector fittings and 2 wooden dowels.
4. I understand that Besta is constructed differently. I recently installed several units, but unfortunately, they seemed to emit something that caused mucous membrane irritation, so Besta is out of the question for me anyway, just as a side note. My main point was that misleading information is provided about load capacity (only on the website, not on the product itself), so you can’t blame the buyer if they want to store their weight plate collection inside. The 30 kg (66 lbs) total limit for wall mounting probably comes from the questionable mounting bracket.

Maverick18543 Aug 2012 07:371. "Key product features
- Adjustable feet for high stability." I submitted an inquiry through the contact form. Let’s see what IKEA says.
2. Same here, sent a request to IKEA.
3. That’s correct, and I have to retract my previous comment. It was unfortunately wrong.
But I think this is all getting off-topic.
4. I can’t comment on off-gassing. I agree with you about the wall mount. If there were a proper mount, I would feel it was more secure. But that’s just our opinion.
I will update once I receive a response from IKEA...
P.S.:
If I attach the wall mount as IKEA recommends, I will probably achieve additional stability. So, if I don’t have a base on the floor and the cabinet edge is directly against the wall, I definitely get better stability. In that case, the statement “Adjustable feet for better stability” is accurate.

Maverick185414 Aug 2012 09:54So, here is the official statement from IKEA:
IKEA Service Center:
"Dear Mr. ***,
Thank you for your inquiry.
The leveling screw you mentioned does not act as a leg and does not support any weight from the cabinet body. The weight is carried by the side panels and the base. This screw is used to compensate for minor floor unevenness (e.g., in older buildings).
Kind regards,

So it is now clear that the feet are only meant to compensate for minor unevenness.
