Hello everyone, I recently purchased an IKEA Platsa shelving unit and am now working on organizing and sorting it efficiently. I am especially interested in any specific tips or proven methods for using the modules effectively to maintain both an attractive appearance and functional order. Are there any recommendations for sorting principles or organizing aids that have proven particularly useful with the flexible Platsa modules? I am also interested in aspects such as the efficient use of drawers, doors, and open compartments, or clever divider elements. Who can share their experience or offer helpful advice?

A tip from me: Use transparent boxes in open compartments so you can quickly see what’s inside. Labels are also useful if you store many different types of items.

I understand how challenging it can be to optimally fill such a versatile shelf. For me, it helped to start with a rough sorting and then gradually fine-tune the arrangement step by step. Sometimes, less is more! And importantly, don’t be too hard on yourself to avoid frustration. Does anyone have tips on how to better balance function and design?

Yes! In my experience: combine color-coordinated boxes and closed fronts to create hidden storage, and use open shelves as design highlights. This way, the shelving never looks too cluttered but remains functional. Simplicity brings joy!
