Hello everyone,

I am currently looking into optimizing my IKEA Pax wardrobes, specifically aiming for more storage space, better functionality, and organization systems. Therefore, my question is: Are there any recommended accessories or practical additions that are especially useful for improving the use, organization, or stability of the Pax wardrobes?

I mean things like inserts, organizers, special hooks, lighting solutions, or even structural modifications that go beyond the standard IKEA accessories and have proven effective. It is also important to me that the solutions are as flexible as possible and do not require complicated installation.

I am looking forward to your experiences and tips!

I would recommend opting for pull-out interior drawers and pull-out clothes rails. These make efficient use of space and work perfectly. Additionally, IKEA offers lighting options that are easy to install.

To optimize Pax shelving units, there are several proven accessories that significantly enhance their functionality:

- Interior drawers and drawer inserts for better organization
- Multi-hooks and telescopic rods for adjustable clothing hanging
- LED lighting systems that are easy to connect and dimmable
- Stabilizers and connecting fittings to increase shelf stability

Additionally, third-party suppliers offer modular shelves and storage boxes that are compatible. It is important to pay close attention to dimensions and load capacity to avoid compromising the shelf’s structural integrity. Flexibility is often achieved by combining multiple solutions rather than relying on a single product.

Do you have specific usage requirements? For example, for shoe storage, accessories, or office supplies?

This is an important question for me as well, because it took me a long time to find the perfect combination of accessories that fit my needs. At first, I was overwhelmed by the variety and didn’t know what was really useful.

Personally, I’ve had good results with storage boxes and separate drawer inserts, especially for small items and accessories. At the same time, I recommend not overloading the interior layout with fixed inserts to stay flexible in case you want to store different items later.

Also, a small tip: sometimes replacing old furniture handles with ergonomic and space-saving ones can make accessing compartments easier and improve the overall appearance.

What about you, barerwin? What do you mainly want to store in the Pax?

Good question, thanks for asking! My focus is on clothing, especially shirts, sweaters, and occasionally shoes. Plus a few accessories like belts and ties.

I also want a small compartment for documents and maybe charging cables or small tech items that I use frequently. Mainly, I want to keep the surface of the shelves tidy and have quick access, without everything getting messy.

What I’d like to improve is more organization and clarity at the same time – in a way that still looks visually appealing without too much “accessory clutter.”

Do you happen to know any special accessories or combinations you would recommend for cases like this? And what about lighting – is it really useful or just a gimmick?
