I am particularly interested in what maximum weight you realistically estimate the drawers can handle, and what modifications or reinforcements are recommended to significantly improve their load capacity.

I understand that the standard soft-close drawer slides have a certain load limit, but are there, for example, reinforced slides available from IKEA itself or third-party suppliers? Also, what about mechanical reinforcements inside the drawer box or the use of alternative materials to better distribute the load?

If you need to support heavier loads, use heavy-duty drawer slides instead of standard IKEA ones.

That’s exactly what I did: got new slides, reinforced the shelves. Result: stable support for more than 35 kg (77 lbs) possible.
