Good morning everyone, I have a somewhat specific question: Are spare parts for the IKEA Platsa system also available for purchase on Amazon? I am mainly looking for connectors and cabinet doors, as I need to retrofit a few parts and the IKEA online shop currently seems quite limited. It would be great if someone has experience or tips on whether you can reliably get the right spare parts through Amazon, or if it’s better to turn to third-party suppliers. Thanks in advance!

Direct original IKEA PLATSA replacement parts are rarely found on Amazon. Most of the time, these are replicas or third-party accessories. It is best to order directly from IKEA.

In any case, I haven’t seen any original PLATSA replacement parts on Amazon. The product range is too specialized; it’s better to check directly with IKEA.

Hello Nilslu, basically, IKEA spare parts are usually available directly through their own customer service. In the case of PLATSA, due to its modular design, it can sometimes be difficult to find the exact matching component from a third-party supplier. Amazon occasionally offers generally compatible furniture parts or screws, but not original PLATSA doors or fittings. So, if you are looking for identical parts, I recommend the official route. It is also possible to request spare parts from IKEA by phone or email, which often works well.

If you are looking for replacement parts for PLATSA, the chances of finding genuine IKEA parts on Amazon are low. However, there are third-party suppliers offering similar handles or screws. For specific cabinet doors or connecting fittings, IKEA remains the most reliable source.

I completely understand that looking for replacement parts on Amazon is tempting, especially when IKEA is out of stock. However, I have personally experienced that replicas don’t always fit perfectly or match the quality exactly. Especially for furniture like PLATSA, where everything needs to fit very precisely, I personally wouldn’t rely on third-party sellers. After all, you don’t want a DIY frustration story in the end.
