Hello everyone,

I will soon be moving into a very small apartment and plan to use the Ikea PAX system to maximize storage space in a limited area. I am especially interested in how to use the PAX wardrobes efficiently and space-savingly in small apartments without making the room feel cramped. Does anyone have experience with specific construction methods, smart interior fittings, or combinations with other furniture that make the whole setup particularly efficient and functional?

I look forward to your tips and practical advice on how to make the most of the PAX system in small apartments, including variable interior options, door types, and overall space utilization.

I would like to add that the choice of materials and color scheme is often underestimated in small rooms. Pax wardrobes in light white or wood finish can visually enlarge the space.

It is also advisable not to place the wardrobe directly next to window areas, as it can otherwise block light and reduce the feeling of spaciousness.

A well-planned interior lighting with LED strips not only makes the contents visible but also creates a more pleasant room atmosphere.

I see many practical tips here – really helpful! Especially when the space is small, an ill-considered wardrobe can quickly make everything feel even more cramped.

One idea: maybe first consider whether a combination of open shelves and closed PAX wardrobe units could create a lighter feel? Personally, I was initially concerned that such a large wardrobe would visually dominate the room.

Thanks to everyone who shares their experiences – it helps to not feel alone with the problem.

I see it a bit differently. A large, solid-feeling PAX wardrobe can also create structure and calm in a small room that might otherwise look visually chaotic.

That's a common opinion. I find it a bit conservative and limiting for design. Dark wardrobes can look very dramatic and stylish if the rest of the interior is coordinated accordingly and there is enough lighting.

So, it’s worth breaking out of the usual and experimenting a little before quickly deciding on “white and light.”
