SogupoHello everyone, I am facing the challenge of organizing and safely storing my various electronic devices. Some time ago, I came across the Ikea Pax wardrobe and wonder how to best use this modular cabinet for storing electronics. I am not only thinking about storing cables, consoles, or routers, but also more sensitive devices like external hard drives, cameras, and smaller audio or studio equipment. How can the Pax be set up in the most efficient way, including ventilation considerations, to ensure both dust protection and adequate air circulation? Are there any experiences with specific modifications or accessories to make the cabinet electromagnetically suitable or at least shielded? I look forward to tips, experiences, and creative solutions!

- Device placement: Position heat-generating devices closer to ventilation grilles or pre-drilled openings.
- Use breathable storage boxes or compartments to prevent overheating.
- Optionally, a small power supply with temperature-controlled fans can be installed that activate automatically.
- For sensitive electronics like cameras, maintaining a low humidity environment is recommended. Dehumidifiers could be helpful in this case.
- Electromagnetic shielding is difficult since the Pax is made of wood and plastic. Special shielding mats could be installed, but this is quite complex.
I’m curious: Which devices and how many do you plan to store specifically? This greatly affects the necessary measures.

Electromagnetic shielding is difficult since the Pax is made of wood and plastic. I share this concern. Assuming such shielding is possible seems mistaken, especially for furniture primarily designed for clothing. It might be better to focus on temperature and dust control. Therefore, I would suggest considering high-quality airtight containers rather than shielding.
It should also be clarified: Is protection against electromagnetic fields or physical influences more important? This would significantly change the approach.
