Hello everyone, some time ago I purchased the IKEA Brimnes bedroom furniture set and noticed that certain replacement parts for this model seem to be needed more often than you might expect. In this context, I would like to hear from you: based on your experience, which replacement parts or components are most commonly replaced in IKEA Brimnes furniture (wardrobes, dressers, beds)? I am especially interested in the typical wear parts or components that need to be replaced after a while, whether due to wear and tear, material fatigue, or assembly issues. Are there common weak points or recurring problems I should watch out for, so I can take precautions or specifically get the necessary replacement parts? Thanks in advance for your detailed tips and advice!

Based on my experience, the hinges and small parts such as Phillips screws or cam lock fasteners are the most commonly replaced components in Brimnes furniture. The material thickness is acceptable for the price, but the long-term durability of the fittings is somewhat limited. It is also advisable to keep an eye on the drawer rollers, as they can wear out and become stiff over time. Another frequently mentioned replacement part by my customers are the plastic stoppers on the drawers, which can break or snap if operated too forcefully.

I understand that the topic of spare parts for furniture like Brimnes is quite important, especially if you are considering purchasing a durable piece.

I have noticed that too. Often, I was unsure whether the part had actually given way or if I was just operating it incorrectly. These small details can really be frustrating, so it’s helpful to be warned in advance and know what can be replaced without having to take the entire cabinet apart. The fasteners seem to be a weak point for me as well, which is unfortunate because the Brimnes design itself is quite appealing.

Hey everyone! I’m really happy with my Brimnes bed, but I can confirm the issue with the drawer rollers! 😃 They definitely aren’t made to last forever. Still, I think you get a solid overall package for the price. If you make sure to get replacement parts in time, the piece of furniture will last much longer. My tip: Always keep a spare pack of those small plastic inserts for the drawer stoppers handy! It makes using it super easy.

From a technical perspective, the spare parts of the Brimnes system often exhibit typical weaknesses, which are confirmed by multiple user reports and personal maintenance experiences. The most commonly replaced components include:
- Hinges, which can loosen or break under frequent use
- Cam connectors, which break due to material fatigue
- Plastic rollers of the drawers, which wear out and reduce smooth operation
- Plastic stoppers, which can be damaged under heavy loads

Depending on the intensity of use, it is advisable to keep corresponding spare parts on hand as a preventive measure. These can be obtained either directly from IKEA or from third-party suppliers offering compatible parts.

Hinges, cam connectors, and drawer rollers are the most common parts to break on Brimnes furniture. If a drawer sticks, the rollers are usually the cause. You can get replacements at IKEA or from a specialist retailer.
