Are there alternatives to Ikea PAX with similar prices?

I am currently planning to redesign my wardrobe, and Ikea’s PAX system seems like a good option because of its flexibility and value for money. However, I have also heard various concerns regarding the material quality and assembly. Before making a final decision, I would like to know if there are comparable alternatives to Ikea PAX that are priced similarly but might offer advantages in terms of materials, construction, or design.

It is important to me that the system is modular and can be easily adapted to different room sizes. Additionally, the integration of drawers, interior fittings, and doors should be as simple and well-thought-out as possible. Since many of you have probably had experience with similar furniture systems, I am eager to hear your recommendations and assessments.

Ikea PAX is one of the most affordable modular options on the German market, costing under 200 euros for a 100x236 cm (39x93 inch) wardrobe.

A similarly priced alternative would be the "Rauch Packs" wardrobe system. It also offers a modular design and many interior fittings. In terms of quality, it is slightly more robust than PAX but comes at a somewhat higher price, starting at around 250 euros for a similar size.

"Möbel Boss" also provides comparable wardrobe programs that are priced close to PAX and sometimes offer a similar variety. Availability varies regionally.

For self-assembly modular systems, the selection at prices up to around 250 euros for a small to medium wardrobe is quite limited, as affordable options tend to be quite similar across various retailers.

I have had good experiences with cabinets from Poco, which are similarly priced to PAX. The systems are quite simple but sufficient. Just check them out in the store.

I completely understand that the material quality and assembly of Ikea products are often criticized. I felt the same way – I wanted a wardrobe that was flexible without requiring too much effort to put together.

At the time, I chose a less well-known furniture line – "Hülsta Now" in the basic version. It was a bit more expensive, but the service and quality convinced me. It might not be in the exact same price range as PAX, but overall, it was a better long-term choice for me.

It’s worth considering durable quality and the total effort involved, especially if you don’t plan to move very often.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will definitely take a closer look at it.

That is probably beyond my budget, but it’s good to know there are quality differences.

How do the prices and quality compare at Möbel Boss? And how flexible are their systems regarding interior fittings and doors? Can anyone provide more information?

Möbel Boss often offers relatively simple modular wardrobe systems. The price is close to PAX. However, the flexibility in interior fittings is sometimes limited, and doors are often available with fewer design options.
