Hello everyone,
we are nearing the completion of the detailed planning phase and the start of construction. I’ve already gone through the whole “I want everything until I want nothing” phase regarding smart home features. By now, I would simply like to be able to operate the roller shutters and blinds via an app.
Here are the requirements:
So far, it looks like only the Gira System 3000 with a Bluetooth module (remote control would then be difficult) is a candidate, or alternatively adding Shelly or flush-mounted actuators (e.g., Bosch, etc.).
I’ve already read and researched pretty much everything about KNX, Loxone, Hager Easy, Homematic, Somfy radio, Zigbee, Z-Wave, and similar systems. Somehow, I seem to be missing something simple or haven’t yet seen a solution that covers the above requirements.
What else is out there, or what would you recommend? Does anyone know the Gira System 3000?
Thanks very much for your experience and advice!

Here are the requirements:
- Wired switches
- Central switch for scenes
- Control via app / possibly also remotely
- Wind sensor is not necessary; I would prefer to control that remotely if needed. At work, this is handled with KNX, but it’s rather unsatisfactory (the shutters keep going up and down, etc.)
- I’m not keen on “old-fashioned” controls like small displays or astro timers

This is my third attempt at setting up a smart home. Apart from a very old, proprietary roller shutter system, I have experience with the older Homematic system. Then I tried the Rademacher Homepilot, and now...??? ...so what did you ultimately decide on?

So far, I have considered the following systems:
1. Bosch Smart Home with roller shutter actuators and Gira switches (€60 per roller shutter switch + central unit)
2. Gira System 3000 (because of the specified Gira switches, additional cost about €100 per roller shutter)
3. Homematic with actuators for the switch boxes and possibly Gira switches as well Did you end up choosing one of the options you listed, or something completely different?
I am currently facing the same challenge and would like to make some parts of the house "smarter."
Venetian blinds, lighting, and possibly a few power outlets.
This thread is a bit older now. Meanwhile, the Shelly PRO series is already available. With this, it’s even possible to integrate roller shutters and/or power outlets into the LAN via the distribution board (DIN rail).
Has anyone in the forum gained experience with the Shelly PRO series?

Has anyone here in the forum already had experience with the Shelly PRO series? We decided on the Bosch roller shutter actuators. If you can buy through Benefits Corporate and the electrician agrees, they cost about 48 € each (about $52).
I have read up on Shelly and watched some videos. Unfortunately, our electrician is not familiar with it. You shouldn’t do things the electrician doesn’t know, otherwise it could go wrong. Everything can be retrofitted if you use deep boxes or make the openings deep enough. 😎
We also chose Bosch. The variety of actuators (underfloor heating) and other options played a role in our decision. However, the system is not yet operational, as it requires power and Wi-Fi during setup. At the moment, it’s operating blindly, and Bosch is more suitable as a renovation solution. In new construction, a QR code on the back of the actuators for installation is more of a hassle than a practical solution.
Happy to share more once the experience is complete.

Happy to share more once the challenge has been overcome. Then take a closer look at the actuators and you will notice that the QR codes are actually on the front! I also believe they are on the packaging and/or the enclosed information sheet (?) ...
Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately, the cardboard is gone ...! Yes, I had seen an information sheet for the underfloor heating thermostats. I should have secured it right away. Certainly my own fault as well, but hopefully other forum members can learn from it.
And the QR code ... 🙄 ... when I think about its placement on the combination connector - unusable. Even the P30 Pro couldn’t focus on it.

No, you are right!
After removing the adapter plate, the QR code on the roller shutter actuator is visible. 😀
The thermostat has the QR code on the back, but a large-format QR code is included in the package.
I’m looking forward to the initial installation, as the power and Wi-Fi are not connected yet.
