Hello everyone,
we are currently building our single-family house with a general contractor. Our quote includes electronic roller shutters and venetian blinds. The offer also includes one switch planned for each roller shutter or venetian blind. However, we are not entirely satisfied because there is no option to lower all the roller shutters and venetian blinds at once. Currently, I see the following solutions:
1) One central switch per floor (basement, ground floor, upper floor) that lowers all the roller shutters/venetian blinds on that level. According to the electrician, this is complicated to implement and quite expensive (about 1000 euros per switch plus wiring).
2) Each roller shutter/venetian blind is equipped with an actuator (is that the correct term?), which we can control wirelessly. In other words, everything operates with switches, but I have the option to send a wireless signal to all roller shutters so they go down or up together.
3) Electric wireless drives are used (e.g., Somfy Rs 100 io). Then no wired switches would be needed for the drives. However, I would have wireless switches stuck to the whole wall. Is that really practical?
I’m sure there are clever solutions I haven’t thought of… Can you help me?

SmartHomeHilfe schrieb:At least with radiant floor heating, it is far too slow to be additionally controlled—neither smart nor in any other way. Here, a proper system balancing should be done instead of constantly fiddling with thermostats or temperature sensors.
Combining it with heating and lighting creates significantly more comfort as well as energy savings.

And to everyone considering wireless solutions... stay away from them, that’s my experience. Feel free to send me a private message for questions or criticism.Your posts are really interesting! Please share your experiences and recommendations with us so we can respond appropriately. What kind of experience do you have? Like in the other thread where you mentioned “wireless that amplifies itself,” while calling “wireless” in the same sentence actually quite poor?Palme23 schrieb:

Apparently, according to the electrician, this is complicated to install and quite expensive (= 1000 € per switch plus wiring). The switch costs less than 100 euros, the wiring is simple, but the electrician will charge extra for it. Talk to your electrician again and don’t let yourself be overcharged. For a maximum of 250 euros, they should be able to do it, and this would be the best solution.
Search online for "Gira 536603" in shopping and you will find plenty of central switches, some even programmable.
They just need to run a few more cables — not a big effort.
In my opinion, the wireless solution is rubbish and makes you dependent on exactly this shutter motor.

After all, you don’t become dependent on the roller shutter motor itself, but at most on the actuator (50 EUR each). Ultimately, the dependency is quite limited because the standard switch remains fully operational in that case. I therefore consider the risk and dependency to be very manageable.

Definitely with Tahoma 🙂 Part of our roller shutters:

I programmed different scenes, for example:
Window X - 0% (fully up)
Window X - 80% (almost fully down)
Window X - 100% (fully down)

And I created a schedule for when and which window should perform which scene, i.e. when a certain scene should start:

Other systems probably allow this as well... Hello @Schimi1791, sorry to bring this up again—I didn’t want to start a new thread and I can’t send private messages yet with this new account :/
So here it is: we installed the Somfy control system including the Tahoma box, but before the system was set up, our electrician left us stranded 🙁 I’m struggling to get the app/box working on my own. Could you (or anyone else?!) possibly help me out?
