ᐅ Any experience with the Cisco SG250X-24P-K9-EU switch?

Hello everyone,

I am considering using/acquiring a managed switch for the future home network.

In my opinion, it should meet all necessary requirements: Layer 3, routing, IGMPv3, VLAN without a router...

Does anyone have experience with this device or any other comments?

Best regards

Which Ubiquiti switch are you referring to? There are different models.

I have two ES-24-250 Watt units and they also support Layer 3 routing.
I wasn’t familiar with this product line yet. I only knew the white ones. But I also find their website not very user-friendly... Does it support IGMPv3?

I always prefer simple solutions:

Why don’t you just leave out the USG?
FritzBox plus any switch? Nowadays, every device should support IGMPv3, or am I mistaken?

Or simply connect the TV directly to the FritzBox with a cable.

Of course, that works. I already mentioned that. I don’t understand why such a fuss is being made here.

Actually, I’ve thought about wiring the Fritzbox directly as well. It just doesn’t satisfy the nerd urge.
As for IGMPv3, I would have thought the same. On the other hand, it doesn’t always seem to be the case. The Unifis apparently don’t support it. The Edges, which I hadn’t known until now, apparently do.

I’m not familiar with the Unifis, but my MagentaTV receiver is connected to a €25 Netgear GS108GE 8-port switch and works perfectly fine.

Yes, it works here too.
In the new house, however, the network should not run across multiple different switches.
