Hello,
we are currently building an urban villa with a separate apartment, which my mother will move into. Since we don’t need a landline phone, we want to share an internet connection.
I have little to no knowledge about this matter.
However, I have already heard from someone that I should connect the main router in our house to the telecom connection, then run an Ethernet cable to the separate apartment. This way, the apartment would have its own Wi-Fi, and we would need a DECT phone connected to the main router in our house, if I understood correctly…
Additionally, I want to run an Ethernet cable to the TV to connect it, and I would like a central Wi-Fi setup in the house (we are building with an open gallery). Therefore, I think it will be enough to have a Wi-Fi repeater connected to the Fritzbox via Ethernet cable. Since this will be in the utility room, it probably won’t cover every corner of the house.
Can someone help me with the best way to set this up and what equipment I will need?
I already have Cat 7 cable, which is supposed to be more future-proof ♂. It is also clear that I will first install flush-mounted sockets with conduits wherever needed… and then

We don't need it at the moment and do not want to pay for it either.
That is your personal opinion, but it doesn't help with my question.

Telecom connection – router/modem – switch – patch panel – LAN cables (Cat7) – outlets
This is the sequence starting from the house connection.
You can either use VoIP phone service, or you should run a telephone line from the router to the separate apartment. Otherwise, you will need DECT repeaters, which is not an ideal solution.

Are switch and patch panel two different components?
How did you manage the distribution point so it looks neat? Several LAN cables will come there, and they can’t just be sticking out of the wall. Are there any good solutions for this?

What exactly is unclear to you?
Just place CAT cables at the necessary points and that’s it. You can skip repeaters—they really aren’t necessary in new constructions. Just plan for access points on each floor (if one isn’t enough) for Wi-Fi coverage. That’s clear. Anyone can install empty conduits and pull cables, but my problem is what comes next. You can’t just plug everything into the FritzBox; for that, you need a distribution panel... And I’m still not sure how to set everything up nicely from a visual perspective.
Is a patch panel something like a distribution panel? You plug a cable from the router into it, and then you get, for example, 10 identical outputs?
