ᐅ What is the name of the cable that is currently connected between the outlets?

In our new build, the router was originally planned to be placed in the hallway, and the necessary connections were installed accordingly; see attachment. When I tried to connect the router, I was told, "That won’t work because there is no fiber optic connection here." So the router was installed in the utility room at the phone socket. From there, a cable runs to the hallway. Currently, this setup creates a kind of “messy connection” between the router and the office. We can switch it so the connection is between the router and the living room. I would like to have a second cable so that both the office and the living room have LAN access. The electrician isn’t sure if he has such a cable available. What is it called? Then I could try to get one.

Where do the orange cables lead to?
But a cable that isn’t connected on one end is pointless, so it probably won’t hurt to connect it to the router as well.

If I plug a patch cable into the left socket in the hallway, I should also connect the corresponding socket on the left in the respective room. I assume that the second orange cable also needs to be connected to the router. But what is the name of the adapter or connector I need to get for this? The electrician is never available, and I don’t feel like calling again to follow up.

Using a patch cable (your "monkey swing cable"), connect from the router outlet to the switch, and from the switch, you can supply each room with its own patch cable. The connection points for distribution are called "ports." You can get a switch like this, for example, with 8 ports from TP-Link for about €20.
