It closely resembles the floor plan of the Kern-Haus "Maxime." We generally like it as well.

Nice floor plan from Kern-Haus.

Thanks for the kind suggestions!

The wall that "separates" the living room and dining area is planned to become a media wall. The sofa will be oriented towards it. We quite like this visually suggested separation of the rooms.

We were told that if the fireplace were placed there, the chimney would have to be extremely tall (above the roof ridge). That’s why the fireplace will be located there instead (see photo attached). I also think this is a good solution. (The wall will be adjusted accordingly)

So the sofa will be placed along the opposite exterior wall? Directly under the window?

Take a look at your current living room and consider the distance between the sofa and TV, the angle you usually sit at when watching TV (directly in front or slightly to the side), and whether that setup works for you or would be possible in the planned living room. 🙂

By the way, I’ll skip suggestions on how to improve it—I actually think the floor plan is pretty good in many ways—but I often wonder if people realize what exactly has been drafted for them. ;-)

By the way, I won’t share ideas on how to improve it – I actually don’t think the floor plan is bad in many ways, but I often wonder if people are really aware of what’s being drawn for them. ;-)

The sofa is supposed to be in the middle of the room;)

But that’s exactly why I’m here for such ideas…
