not the plot ?
Maybe I’m not understanding your point, but for this type of house it only makes sense to me if the front door faces the street, and the garden is used as an extension of the plot.
By the way, the garage will be moved further back so that the side windows in the kitchen disappear. This also creates significantly more usable floor space. However, a 19 m² (205 sq ft) kitchen can easily accommodate a large kitchen island with plenty of storage…

Ground floor The door opening direction is definitely an important point. Thanks.

Upper floor The parents’ wing will be separated from the rest by a door.

And is a maximum distance of 3.5 m (11.5 ft) between the sofa and TV enough for you? Or even less if the sofa is moved away from the exterior wall?
Personally, that would be too little for me. If you are aware of the distance and want it that way, that’s fine. 🙂I will measure it again 😉
I also really like the design!
So, you don’t have children yet. The open space will most likely mean that the kids wake up every time the TV is a bit too loud, someone laughs, coughs, or even when you’re enjoying a cozy dinner with friends, or you’ll have to sneak through the living area once the children are in bed.
And when they’re older and have overnight guests, you’ll probably retreat to your bedroom, the garden, or a hotel.
I would also reconsider the fireplace or the partition wall. I think it would feel uncomfortable to walk between the hot stove and the (multimedia) wall.
Best regards,
Kathi

Is there any (possibly technical) reason why the children's rooms are not the same size? The occupants are usually not the same size either—unless they are twins (?)

Have you ever considered (possibly) rotating the house 90° toward the southwest? Is the ridge direction possible? That would also solve the alleged chimney issue, and the nicer spot would then be near the ridge.

Maybe I don’t understand your point, but for this type of house it only makes sense to me if the front door is parallel to the street and the garden is used as an extension of the property. If the cadastral map is oriented north, plot 503, then your terrace faces southeast, right?
In the evening, you would sit on the terrace in the shade of your own house.
The floor plan is really good, but unfortunately the plot orientation *in my opinion* doesn’t match. This is a "south-facing house," so for me the terrace should face south to southwest.
Of course, this might be just my personal preference—as a morning person, priorities differ.

… that the side windows in the kitchen disappear. That also creates significantly more space for furniture. However, a 19 m² (204 sq ft) kitchen can certainly accommodate a large kitchen island with plenty of storage… The window and garage are fine. The window just shouldn’t be floor-to-ceiling… as already planned, a kitchen counter with work and storage space—almost a dream.
We have also planned a media wall, as we saw it at friends’ houses before. For us, it’s an alternative to placing the sofa with its back to the room. The two openings are each 150 cm (59 inches) wide. However, the fireplace is not located in this area.
