ᐅ Distance between two washbasins

Hello everyone,

In our bathroom, two washbasins are planned. Now we are wondering what the ideal distance between the two should be. As a space filler, we are considering a towel rack or a small cabinet. Each washbasin is 60 cm (24 inches) long and they can be arranged over a length of about three meters (10 feet).

If you use Google Image Search, you’ll find many beautiful examples that can serve as inspiration. These range from double sinks, to countertop basins with a continuous surface, to separate sinks with a cabinet in between.

A modern approach would be to connect two washbasins, either as a single piece or joined by a countertop. Separation by a cabinet or any dust traps were used ages ago.

I already did that, but not very thoroughly.

In the series we chose, there are no connected single washbasins. There is only one large double washbasin. However, with a width of 120 cm (47 inches), it was not wide enough. That’s why we decided on two individual washbasins.

Is that possible with your range? Does your range offer vessel sinks?

Maybe you picked the wrong range?

Alternatively, one can still ask why two washbasins are needed – sometimes, even four of us use one (although it does get cramped). The only reason I can imagine is that everyone needs to clean up individually.
