Hello everyone,

In our bathroom, two washbasins are planned. Now we are wondering what the ideal distance between the two should be. As a space filler, we are considering a towel rack or a small cabinet. Each washbasin is 60 cm (24 inches) long and they can be arranged over a length of about three meters (10 feet).

Alex

Hello

For most porcelain series, various washbasin types are available.
For a width of three meters (10 feet), I would tend to prefer countertop or built-in washbasins.

In case anyone is interested and I may mention it, it is the Keramag Icon series. The washbasins can be installed as countertop basins. We will see if we can find a continuous vanity unit or if we will have one custom made.

Regarding the question of whether we need two washbasins, I can’t say much yet. I simply don’t know. But at the moment, we have one and it feels insufficient. Currently, we are two adults and a baby.

Alex

Three people and only one bathroom in the new house? Or is there an additional shower room?

A main bathroom upstairs and a guest toilet downstairs.

Does the guest bathroom also have a shower?

I would design the spacing between the sinks so that they are still easy to clean.

However, I don’t understand the idea of double sinks. I prefer to be alone in the bathroom, as does the rest of my family.

On the other hand, a second shower makes sense if there are more than two people.

No, it doesn’t have it. We decided against it on purpose. We might be happy with that decision later, but we could also regret it...

Thanks for the tip about cleaning. We are currently at a distance of 50cm (20 inches). This allows us to either build a continuous cabinet underneath and place the sinks on top or put a 40cm (16 inches) wide cabinet in between.

It often happens that we brush our teeth at the same time and share the bathroom. That way, everyone has their own personal space.

Regards,
Alex
