Hello everyone, I have some Hemnes furniture from IKEA at home and would like to start regular maintenance and care to keep it in good condition for as long as possible. My question specifically concerns which tools and supplies I need for this. Are there any special tools particularly suitable for Hemnes furniture, or is a basic set of tools sufficient? I’m also interested in recommended care products and any accessories – I especially want to know how to repair small scratches or how to best check and tighten screws and joints. Regarding tools: Just a good Phillips screwdriver is enough! For me, regularly checking the screws is a must—at least twice a year, especially if the furniture is used frequently.
For maintenance: I always use mild furniture polish and clean carefully with a damp, soft cloth. I treat small scratches with special wax sticks designed for wood repair. You have to be really gentle with them!
