Hello everyone,

I am currently planning to better organize my Ikea PAX wardrobe and would like to hear your opinions: Which Ikea products do you find particularly suitable for practically and efficiently arranging the interior of the PAX system? I am especially interested in solutions that make good use of the available storage space, such as drawer inserts, internal rods, or special shelves. It is also important to me that the products fit the PAX system ideally, so they require little or no modification. Which combinations or additions would you recommend to optimally combine hanging and shelf space, for example?

I look forward to your specific tips!

For an efficient interior organization of the PAX system, I primarily recommend using the specifically designed internal drawers and shelves from Ikea, such as the KOMPLEMENT drawers and shelves. These are directly compatible and fit perfectly into the PAX frame.

- KOMPLEMENT drawers provide enclosed storage space, ideal for smaller clothing items or accessories.
- Internal rods offer additional hanging space, especially practical for shirts, blouses, or short jackets.
- Accessories like drawer inserts (organizers) help keep underwear or jewelry neatly arranged.

I advise against using products from other Ikea series without modification, as the dimensions often do not fit exactly, resulting in suboptimal use of space. Combining open shelves and closed drawers creates flexible storage zones.

I agree with this and would like to add: In addition to the classic KOMPLEMENT inserts and interior rods, I find the pull-out trouser hangers very efficient. They are specially designed for PAX wardrobes and make storing trousers much easier without taking up much space.

I also often use the boxes and inserts from the DRÖNA series in the drawers because they help to better organize the interior space, especially for smaller items. This keeps everything tidy and prevents the usual clutter.

The most important thing is to divide the storage space according to your own needs and, if necessary, to work with adjustable elements like the PAX KOMPLEMENT storage baskets.

I believe the common recommendation to use only the official PAX KOMPLEMENT parts is quite narrow-minded. Sure, they are tailor-made, but if you really want to get the most out of it, you should also consider other Ikea elements or even third-party components—especially when budget is a factor.

Take the VARIERA boxes, for example: they are very versatile and work excellently as dividers inside large compartments, even though they are not specifically designed for PAX.

Exactly, but why not also add dresser components or small shelving units independently? This way, you can create custom combinations that Ikea might never have intended. In my opinion, creativity is more important here than rigid system constraints.
