Hello everyone, I recently purchased several IKEA Metod base cabinets for my kitchen and now face the challenge of organizing the available storage space as efficiently as possible. My specific question is: Which organizers or insert elements are best recommended to really optimize the storage space in the IKEA Metod base cabinets? I’m especially interested in how to store small utensils, pots and pans, as well as storage containers in the most space-saving way while keeping easy access and maintaining an overview. Ideally, I’ve already heard about drawer inserts, adjustable dividers, and removable boxes, but I’m unsure how practical each of these options is in real use. Are there any practical tips or specific products that have proven effective? Thanks in advance to everyone who shares their experiences!

For Metod base cabinets, I usually use drawer inserts and wire baskets. This way, small items can be well organized and remain visible. I place pots in the large compartments, but with lid holders to keep everything in place.

I believe a smart combination of adjustable intermediate shelves and removable plastic inserts offers great flexibility. Especially practical are the internal organizers and wide drawer inserts, which make optimal use of the space and create a clear structure. Also, make sure to install narrow or tall containers, for example for cutting boards or aluminum foil, along the sides.

I have to admit, when I first set up my Metod cabinets, I just piled all the pots in there randomly 🙈 Then I used drawer inserts that can be divided into different compartments. It makes life easier! I also use these small movable boxes where I keep spices and other small items – that way, I don’t have to empty everything at once when I’m looking for something. I can only recommend it.

Organizers with adjustable dividers are great for storing small items, such as kitchen utensils, separately and neatly. For pots, a pull-out tray is useful so you don’t have to remove everything.

Thanks for the tip about the movable boxes. Do you use specific sizes or models that fit the Metod width and depth exactly? And what about the costs? I don’t want to buy too many different organizers that I might not be able to use later.
