Hello everyone, I am currently facing the challenge of choosing the right Ikea PAX wardrobe for my bedroom. It is especially important to me which PAX models have the greatest depth, as I need to store much bulkier clothing and some accessories that require significantly more space than regular garments.
Could you provide an overview or share your personal experience regarding which PAX models are best suited for this — particularly in terms of the wardrobe depth? I would appreciate precise measurements so I can plan my space accurately. Thanks in advance!

It’s really practical because you can fit a lot inside – especially jackets and thick sweaters. If you have the space for it, it’s definitely worth it! 😊 I really like how flexible the PAX series is.
Just to add: The Ikea PAX wardrobes come in two relevant depths – 35 cm (14 inches) and 58 cm (23 inches). However, you can also choose door panels that are slightly thicker, which minimally increases the overall depth. For the largest interior space, the 58 cm (23 inches) models are optimal, as they provide enough storage without making the wardrobes look too bulky.
Also, when planning, I would pay attention to whether internal fittings like drawers or shelves reduce the storage space, as this affects the usable depth.

I can understand well that the depth is important to you, especially if you want to store larger clothing and accessories. I felt the same way when I bought my PAX. I chose the 58 cm (23 inches) deep wardrobe and was initially a bit unsure if it might be too big for my room. But by now, I find the storage space simply great – it really holds a lot, and the deeper design makes organizing easier.
If space is limited, it’s a good idea to carefully check where the doors open best to ensure nothing gets in the way.
