Hey,
I have now bought a kitchen from IKEA twice. One new kitchen for our apartment and one for my daughter’s apartment.
I have to admit, though, that I find this kitchen assembly system quite confusing, especially since basically only the finishes have different names, while the underlying construction is similar. I believe we bought a Faktum kitchen and an Udden, or something like that. One is a white kitchen and the other black, both with silver handles.
Which one is your favorite, and what do you think of the mix-and-match concept?
Best regards
Constantin

PerleHamburg1 Feb 2012 19:48I find designing my own kitchen really exciting. The 3D kitchen planner is a great invention. Ever since I was a child, I enjoyed playing "The Sims," where I would spend a lot of time just furnishing the house, but then I’d get bored because of the characters walking around and eventually stop playing. I’ve just started designing my kitchen with the kitchen planner. It’s amazing how many options there are. And if I move out in maybe five years, I can easily expand my new kitchen. I’m really impressed.

For example, when I want to integrate my own furniture, it’s often not possible to represent it accurately with the IKEA planning tool. I want to buy one of those apartment kitchens from IKEA but at the same time purchase a dining set from somewhere else. Now I’m wondering how to best visualize this so that I get a clear impression and can continue planning. Do you have any solutions? It’s very important to me to have an accurate representation.
