Hello everyone,

I am currently planning my kitchen and considering which fridge-freezer combination I could choose. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find any list of compatible or recommended appliances online.

For the ME 719, IKEA only offers the RÅKALL model.

However, I feel that this leaves too much unused space.

I then searched online for 178 cm (70 inches) high appliances. Many of them have a refrigerator door wider than 100 cm (39 inches) at the top, which doesn’t fit the ME 719.

I only found the Neff KG714A2 with a width of 998 mm (39.3 inches) and the AEG SCS61800F1 with 979.5 mm (38.6 inches), both featuring a fixed door design.

Would there be any installation issues with these models?

Alternatively, I found separate Bosch/Siemens appliances—a 88 cm (34.6 inches) refrigerator and a 72 cm (28.3 inches) freezer.

However, the separate system tends to be somewhat more expensive.

Is there any list of suitable appliances somewhere? Is there anything against the AEG?

Thanks and best regards,
bamboocha

What speaks against using the ME 720 instead?

The downside of the 720 is that you have to open the refrigerator door to access the compartment above it.

There is no list of compatible appliances. You should first choose an appliance that meets your requirements and then see if you can assemble a suitable cabinet. Fixed door technology is usually not a problem, and you don’t lose 2 cm (0.8 inches) of width as you do with sliding doors.

Hello Nörgli, hello IKEA expert,

thank you for the answers.
What speaks against using the ME 720 instead?
The problem with the 720 is that you have to open the fridge door to reach the compartment above it.

Exactly. 🙂

But the idea of "choosing a device" puzzles me a bit.
Most of them have a fridge door around one meter (39 inches) high, and IKEA uses a 20cm (8 inches) module system.
That means I have to go with the ME 720 after all and won’t have a flap above.

You could also make a 20cm (8 inches) flap if you want to put trays or similar items in this compartment, for example. Whether it visually fits with the rest is something you’ll have to see.

Or you could place a drawer with a 20cm (8 inches) front under the combination unit.

However, if it needs to be a 40cm (16 inches) high compartment, then the only option is to look for an appliance with different door heights.
