Hello everyone,
I am currently planning the installation of Ikea Metod corner cabinets for my new kitchen and want to make sure I don’t miss any important steps during the assembly. What do you consider to be especially crucial steps to watch out for when installing Metod corner cabinets? I am particularly interested in the key points that are essential to achieve a stable, functional, and visually appealing corner in the end.
Are there any special considerations regarding the connection of the cabinets to each other or the doors that should not be underestimated?
I look forward to your experiences and tips!

What I noticed in my project: When installing drawer slides and shelves, it’s essential to pay close attention to the load capacity and positioning of the rails. Especially at corner joints, the mechanics often bear higher loads than in straight cabinets.
If you are too generous or careless here, you usually only notice it when the drawers start sticking or don’t slide smoothly. So, a bit of patience during fitting and alignment also pays off for the interior fittings.

Does anyone have advice on which tools or aids have proven especially useful for installing drawers so they operate smoothly?
Also, I’m interested to know if there is a recommended order for installing fronts when combining corner cabinets with different types of doors.
Regarding the tools: A good cordless drill with adjustable torque is almost essential when assembling Ikea Metod corner cabinets. This helps prevent screws from being driven in too deep or left too loose.
A spirit level is also useful for the drawers to align the rails precisely—this is especially important in the corner area, as otherwise the drawers may stick.
On the topic of different door types: I always install the standard doors first, followed by specialty doors (e.g., with glass or attached handles), because this makes it easier to make adjustments at the corner joints.
