Hello everyone, I have an issue with my new Malm chest of drawers where some drawers suddenly get stuck when closing. It feels like the drawer box is no longer running smoothly along the runners, causing the drawer to jam or not close fully. Does anyone have specific insights into the typical causes of this Malm problem? I have already made sure the runners are clean, but perhaps it’s related to alignment or the installed rollers. Has anyone had experience with solutions to prevent Malm drawers from sticking when closing? I’m especially interested in practical tips or tricks you use to fix this issue permanently.

Regarding the rollers: In the Malm model, these are plastic rollers on metal axles that can slide easily. If a roller becomes misaligned, the drawer will stick. It’s best to check all rollers to ensure they rotate freely and are properly centered.

Just to avoid misunderstandings: Do not use aggressive cleaners when cleaning. Simply use a damp cloth with mild soap, then let it dry thoroughly. This protects the tracks and rollers from corrosion and keeps the sliding system reliable.

For final information: I checked everything yesterday and aligned the running rails, then treated them with PTFE spray. The drawer now runs much more smoothly and no longer sticks. The tips about rollers and alignment were spot on, thanks to everyone. For those it concerns: pay attention to correct alignment, clean sliding surfaces, and the choice of lubricant, then it will work reliably.
