Hello everyone, I have a problem with the doors of my Ikea Pax wardrobe: the hinges keep sticking when opening and closing, causing a hard, sometimes grinding noise, which makes moving the door noticeably difficult.
I have already checked whether the doors are properly aligned, and all screws seem to be tightened securely. Nevertheless, the sticking remains, and the doors no longer close as smoothly as they did in the beginning.
I am particularly interested in common causes for sticking issues with Ikea Pax door hinges, whether there are specific lubricants recommended, and if anyone has tips for a long-term solution.
What experiences have you had with these hinges? Are there known weak points where early intervention is advisable? Thanks in advance for any helpful advice!

If the hinge sticks, it is almost always due to incorrect installation or misalignment.I would like to agree with this. First and foremost: carefully check the installation. The Ikea Pax hinges have several adjustment levers that allow you to fine-tune the door position in three dimensions.
My advice:
- Check whether the hinge plate is properly and fully seated on the cabinet frame.
- Adjust the position step by step using the adjustment screws.
- Test the door movement after each small adjustment.
Only when the door moves smoothly is minimal lubrication advisable. Excess grease or oil should be avoided, as it can do more harm than good.
Therefore, my recommendation is: focus on adjustment first, then apply proper lubrication.
