Hello everyone, some time ago I got a Hemnes furniture piece from Ikea, and I have noticed that the hinges and a few connection points on one of the cabinets have become loose. Now I am wondering: What repair kits or spare parts are available specifically for Ikea Hemnes that can be used for these small repairs? I am looking for something that ideally ensures proper spacing, replaces screws or fittings, and makes the furniture stable again. It would be great if you could also share your experiences with different kits or material quality, and maybe some tips on the correct application. Thanks in advance!

Additionally, hardware stores provide small furniture repair kits containing wood filler, screws, and spare parts. For Hemnes, standard cam connectors and compatible hinges from Ikea are recommended.
I understand how frustrating it is when the Hemnes shakes – I had the same issue with my TV cabinet! For me, the Ikea repair kit with new hinges really helped. It can feel a bit overwhelming when everything comes apart. The key is to work slowly and patiently, ideally having both hands free and avoiding applying too much force at once. If you want, I can also explain how I approached the repair.

The Ikea repair kit with new hinges really helped me. Thank you for the feedback, that sounds very helpful. I’m also interested in what exactly is included in the Ikea repair kit. Does it contain only new hinges, or are matching screws and plastic parts included as well? Also, how do you remove the old hinges? Are special tools required, or is a regular Phillips screwdriver sufficient? I want to make sure I don’t make any mistakes.Great that you’re addressing this topic! I bet with the right kits, you can give your Hemnes furniture a new lease on life. 😊 I once had a similar kit from Ikea and was impressed because it fit perfectly. Sometimes small aids like wood glue or replacement dowels can also help, especially if the wood has slightly stretched. So go for it, save money, and enjoy the repair process!
