I recently bought a Billy bookcase for my living room and, of course, I want to maintain it as best as possible so it stays looking good for a long time. My question is: What care is recommended for Billy bookcases in the living room?
I’m especially interested in how to clean the surface properly, which products I should use to avoid scratches and discoloration, and whether there are any special care methods that can protect or refresh the material.
I have read that some people use wood care oil, others swear by simple furniture polish, and others recommend just dry or damp cloths without any additives.

For anyone who wants to be on the safe side: I swear by microfiber cloths and warm water, without any cleaning agents, as this protects the surface best. And for scratches, I always use a color-matched furniture touch-up pen – it looks like new afterward!
