RäuberHotzen3 Apr 2017 11:14Hello,
my wife and I are looking for high-quality outdoor bins to store our colorful waste containers.
We want to keep the bins in enclosures so they don’t stand out too much.
My requirements are durability (preferably no wood) and still affordable.
My wife’s requirements: attractive appearance (wood is also welcome).
Has anyone had positive experience with a manufacturer, or do you have to have custom-made bins if you want them to last 10 years or more?
Best regards and thanks in advance.
I searched this forum but couldn’t find anything on this topic. Please only recommend truly high-quality manufacturers.

My Google searches in this area have shown that high quality and low cost are contradictory.
We now have a plastic box—I really don’t like that stuff in the garden at all—but after three years, the wooden one rotted away, and the item also warped. I am not willing to spend a four-figure amount (nor even 500).
Regards, Yvonne

I definitely don’t want to spend four digits per ton, but there has to be something durable (at least 5, preferably 10 years) at a reasonable price. I’m also willing to spend €500.
I’ll check out the builder’s merchant / home improvement store.

RäuberHotzen5 Apr 2017 11:05Bauhaus and OBI only offer cheap plastic and wooden garbage bin covers. I don’t find them very attractive, and I don’t think they will last long. For me, it makes more sense to spend a bit more once and then have peace of mind for 10 years.
A local hardware store did have high-quality covers, but they were around €900 per unit. They were also placed right at the entrance, and you could see that the few plastic parts had already suffered from the weather.
What do you think about these? They are quite pricey, but they seem to be made entirely of stainless steel. I’m thinking of driving there to check them out in person. It’s about 50 minutes from my home.
Has anyone had experience with this model or supplier? I’m grateful for any tips.
Best regards
