Hello,
my wife and I are looking for high-quality outdoor bins to store our colorful waste containers.

We want to keep the bins in enclosures so they don’t stand out too much.

My requirements are durability (preferably no wood) and still affordable.
My wife’s requirements: attractive appearance (wood is also welcome).

Double compartment made of metal with perforated sides and handles

Has anyone had positive experience with a manufacturer, or do you have to have custom-made bins if you want them to last 10 years or more?

Best regards and thanks in advance.

I searched this forum but couldn’t find anything on this topic. Please only recommend truly high-quality manufacturers.

As promised, I visited the site and took a look at the garbage bin enclosures.

First, regarding durability: the bins are designed to last 10 years or more. They even offer a warranty for that.

Only materials that are highly weather-resistant are used, such as stainless steel. Mr. Penkalla showed me what was considered during the "development" process (weak points are connecting elements like hinges or screws) and how they resolved these issues. The man really knew his stuff.

Dents or dents only occur if you drive into them with a car. The stainless steel is quite thick. @Curly

I even chose a bin with wood cladding (also for my wife’s sake):

Two garden cabinets with wood cladding and metal frame and doors

The wood is specially treated, pressed, and sealed. I’ve also seen photos of a 7-year-old bin with wood cladding, and it looked very good. The wood was just a bit lighter due to sunlight. Everything else looked like day one.

Best regards

@ypg how is your plastic bin holding up?

I'm currently searching as well. We have two 240 liter (63 gallons) and two 120 liter (32 gallons) bins, and I don’t like how they look, but I’m not willing to pay over €2000 either.

Great. It’s a Tepro Keter from Metro in anthracite. It works well. Since we will be getting a bio-waste bin next year, we bought a second one, and my husband also got a third one for the garden: you can hide it between bushes and store stuff there.

@RäuberHotzen :

What is the price of the box and how many trash bins does it accommodate?

And where is the company located?

Best regards,
Birgit

I’m interested as well. I much prefer these boxes compared to the Bauhaus model. Let’s see if I still like them once I know the price...

I just looked up Mr. Penkalla... great stuff, with what is probably a reasonable price. Let's see whether we will save up for it or build something ourselves...
