Hello.

I have the following problem.

We have parquet flooring in the living areas. It is installed as a floating floor (with a foil and cork underneath) on top of a screed. The floor consists of click-lock elements.

Now, the floor in the bedroom is noticeably lifting and sinks down when stepped on. This happens near the door area. There is a heavy wardrobe behind the door. We have removed the baseboards, and expansion gaps are present on the three free sides (one side is occupied by the wardrobe).

The problem also occurs slightly in a child's bedroom, which is completely empty. Here, expansion gaps are available on all sides as well.

What could be the cause? What can we do about it?

Looking forward to your answers.

Good luck Christian Mayer

Photos? Currently, the parquet expands in summer and contracts in winter.

The gaps might not be sufficient.

For us, it also appears more wavy in summer.

I could imagine that the substrate with cork and foil might be too much for the heavy cabinet, causing it to give way enough for individual floorboards to lift.
