Hello,
About 4 weeks ago, we seeded grass on newly laid topsoil. The lawn is lush, but there is also “clover-like” weed. We suspect that the weed was already present in the topsoil that was brought in. The soil that was not brought in is free of it.
Does anyone recognize this weed and know what to do? Should we pull it out or leave it and treat it with weed killer next year?
Attached are a few photos ops:

Hard to say. Could you take a close-up photo of the leaves and the flower once it has recovered from mowing?
However, over time you will have to accept that weeds and lawn grass do not completely exclude each other.
The only effective method is consistent hand weeding! Before mowing!
Where did the lawn seed mix come from? Did you sow the same batch in areas without weeds?
Our wildflower meadow mix looked similar.
