ᐅ Telecommunications contract with reduction of the house connection fee

Hello everyone,
We had both a Telekom and a cable connection installed in our house. Originally, I had chosen the cable connection for internet and phone service, but I would now like to change that due to new contracts and terms from Unitymedia.
Both companies offer a discounted house connection if you sign a contract with them directly, with Telekom charging €398 instead of €598, and Unitymedia €550 instead of €900. Unitymedia has already charged me €550 with the note that I should order the cable connection by the end of May; otherwise, the remaining amount will be invoiced.
Shortly before that, I received the bill for the Telekom connection (6 months after installation *g*) for €598, and on the phone, they told me that the discount applies only when ordering a Telekom connection.
So now I have a few questions for those with experience:
Was it the same for you?
Are there deadlines for the connection?
Who is best to order the connection from (online or in-store) and what additional documents do I need to submit?
Before I speak with 25 Telekom agents who don’t know anything, I’d rather ask how it has worked for others *g*.

Has the Telekom house connection also initially been charged in full at 598€ and then the 200€ discount credited upon signing the contract by other builders?I haven’t received the bill yet, but according to my contact person from "Telekom-Hilft," the invoice is issued for the full amount, and then the 200€ discount is applied after signing the contract, reflected in the resulting monthly fees.

- Telekom: I had the house connection installed (even though I am not using it at the moment). Cost: €399.95, with no obligation to enter into a service contract. This was also billed accordingly.
- Unitymedia: House connection costs €398.00 (in combination with a UM service contract). However, I concluded the UM service contract (cable TV/internet/phone) through Check24 (with a €250 cashback). It worked without any issues and is cheaper than going directly through Unitymedia.
