Hello,

On December 16, the main electrical connection to our house and, at the same time, the telecom connection were installed. The electrical company now needs to report the completion of their work to the telecom provider. On December 23, I inquired when this would happen. Today, I was informed that it will not be done until the end of the month because the responsible colleague is on vacation. Do I have to accept this? Am I forced to wait, or can I speed up the process? I find this quite frustrating, especially since we plan to move in on January 24.

Best regards

Believe me, if it happens that quickly, you are very lucky. We had our connection point completed in mid-July (only after repeated insistence). However, it then took another two months and countless phone calls and written requests before we finally went online at the end of September.

So, I hope that is not the case for you, but it can also take longer.

We had a connection installed directly through Vodafone (Kabel Deutschland).
The handover point and the building entry were set up in October.
The technician is supposed to come tomorrow and activate everything...
I’m curious to see how it goes.

With Telekom, we were told it can take up to six months until everything is up and running. (From setting up the handover point to activation :/)

I spoke with the telecom company today. They will now contact the contractor themselves and try to resolve the issue. I’m very curious to see how it turns out. They want to do everything possible to ensure I have the connection ready by the move-in date. I just didn’t expect the electrical company to delay me for another month as well.

I don’t want to give you false hope, but you won’t have internet access before January 24th. We went through the exact same process, so my only advice is to stay persistent and follow up almost daily to keep applying pressure.

For us, it took about 6 months from pipe installation to commissioning.
