Hello everyone, I recently installed an IKEA Metod kitchen with drawers and have noticed that some of the drawers do not slide as smoothly and quietly as I had hoped. In particular, the drawer runners sometimes feel a bit stiff and produce knocking or scraping noises when opening and closing. I suspect that adjustments or maintenance of the Metod drawer slides could help make the operation quieter and smoother. Does anyone have experience with this and can provide specific tips on how to adjust the IKEA Metod drawers for smooth and quiet movement, as well as recommend maintenance steps to keep these qualities lasting?

In addition to cleaning and lubrication, you can check the adjustment of the drawers: slightly adjust the height using the adjustment screws if they hang unevenly. Also, avoid overloading them, as this increases pressure on the slides and makes them harder to operate.

Listening carefully to knocking sounds often helps. Sometimes it is loose screws or a misaligned component. Remove the drawer, check all parts, tighten the screws, and make sure the plastic rollers are not damaged or dirty.
