Hello everyone,

We are currently planning our new build and are wondering if it makes sense to skip the telecommunications connection.
We have been using cable broadband for years and don’t really need a connection from the telecom provider.
Is there any reason not to do this?
Thank you very much for your opinions.

Good luck

The downside is: You don’t know what the future will bring.

How much do you actually save by not installing a phone line?

I'm not sure if I fully understand your question, but your house should have a telephone cable installed. You can usually choose your provider freely, except for the "last mile."

I’m not exactly sure. I’d estimate around 400€ (about 430 USD).
You never know what the future holds, that’s true.
But I never want to switch to Telekom again.
LTE is also available here, in case the cable connection goes down.

No. Phone, internet, TV, all via cable respectively.

I checked on Kabel-BW’s website, and they apparently also install the house connection, so you can completely do without the telecommunications provider. If Kabel BW no longer exists in 30 years, someone else will buy the network and continue to provide service—you can take that risk.
