Hello,
I would like to know how steep an undeveloped plot of land is.
Is there an affordable DIY method to measure this accurately to the centimeter (inch)?
I don’t want to hire a surveyor for this; I just need a rough initial idea.

Then, by observing the water level in the hose, you can determine the height difference relative to the ground level. This method only works for gentle slopes or if you have a ladder.
A truly low-budget method would be: one person stands "above" with a spirit level and laser, while the other is "below" with a tape measure. --> Laser hits the tape measure. This way, you know the height difference and can calculate the rest.
If the slope is longer than the tape measure length, you can repeat this in sections until you reach the bottom.
This should be sufficient for a rough estimate.
