Hello,

I would like to know how steep an undeveloped plot of land is.

Is there an affordable DIY method to measure this accurately to the centimeter (inch)?

I don’t want to hire a surveyor for this; I just need a rough initial idea.

Parallelogram or slope?
(And now some filler words…)

Maybe the Lovion MEASURE APP (Mobile Surveying) could help here. I believe you can also try it free for 14 days. Regards

I would like to know the slope at point X on a plot of land. More precisely, I want to clarify where the slope begins and how steep it is.

In my imagination, I picture taking my iPhone, attaching it to a 1 meter (3.3 feet) long stick, walking onto the plot, and using GPS or an altimeter app on the device to detect a 1 meter (3.3 feet) drop, thus indicating the slope.

Or rather, I want to clarify from where the slope starts and how steep it is.

In my imagination, I picture holding my iPhone attached to a 1-meter (3 feet) long stick, walking across the property, and using the GPS elevation measurement or whatever the device uses to detect a drop of 1 meter (3 feet), indicating the slope.

The app mentioned above works roughly like that… I had the idea back then to measure my garden, including all buildings, beds, trees, etc. I was told at the time that it would work quite well.

If you need it accurate to the centimeter (0.4 inches), I would borrow a leveling device.
