Hello!
I signed up here because I hope you know more.
I have the Rationell drawers in my kitchen, the ones with soft-close. I replaced them just before “end of Faktum” during a complete renovation together with the new fronts.
But the one under the sink no longer wants to close properly. I removed the dampers, but that wasn’t the issue (of course).
The tension springs of the closing mechanism were broken on both sides. This door is used much more often than the others, especially when you cook every day.
I first took one spring each from two other small drawers. Now it works again.
So, here’s my question:
Can anyone tell me where I could buy these springs as spare parts? Does anyone know these kinds of tension springs?
I somehow suspected that the rails correspond to the Hettich system. But as an end user, you can’t really get access to that, right?
And you can’t buy rails separately anymore, can you?
Well, there is a replacement drawer available from the after-sales service, but not for much longer.
It’s the 45cm (18 inches) deep one, I’d have to check.
But somehow I can’t get myself to buy a whole new drawer just because of the springs.
Can anyone help me?
Best regards,
Mschil

Thank you, IKEA expert, that sounded different from the information I got in Essen.
(Yes, I really miss the kind gentleman at the customer service desk there. Haven’t seen him in a long time; I wonder if he has retired?)
I definitely need to look up the invoices. It took quite a while.
First, we exchanged fixed shelves for pull-out shelves. Then we replaced the old ones with soft-close versions.
After that, I added a few extra shelves in between to make better use of the space.
If I’m lucky, a purchase may have been made before the deadline.
However, back then the announcement of Metod was our official starting point for the renovation.
Are you absolutely sure that movable parts are covered under the 25-year guarantee?
I’m familiar with new builds where, for example, pumps are not covered under the 5-year warranty.

IKEA-Experte7 Jan 2017 12:27The warranty applies to RATIONELL full-extension drawer slides without any restrictions.
In case of emergency, you can try to obtain springs for the Quattro drawer slide from Hettich. These are the basis for the OEM versions of the full-extension slides used by IKEA. They might fit.
