Hello!
I signed up here because I hope you know more.
I have the Rationell drawers in my kitchen, the ones with soft-close. I replaced them just before “end of Faktum” during a complete renovation together with the new fronts.
But the one under the sink no longer wants to close properly. I removed the dampers, but that wasn’t the issue (of course).
The tension springs of the closing mechanism were broken on both sides. This door is used much more often than the others, especially when you cook every day.
I first took one spring each from two other small drawers. Now it works again.
So, here’s my question:
Can anyone tell me where I could buy these springs as spare parts? Does anyone know these kinds of tension springs?
I somehow suspected that the rails correspond to the Hettich system. But as an end user, you can’t really get access to that, right?
And you can’t buy rails separately anymore, can you?
Well, there is a replacement drawer available from the after-sales service, but not for much longer.
It’s the 45cm (18 inches) deep one, I’d have to check.
But somehow I can’t get myself to buy a whole new drawer just because of the springs.
Can anyone help me?
Best regards,
Mschil

It depends on which manufacturer you have. IKEA in Germany has sold either Hettich or Blum drawer slides under the name Rationell (Tandembox type with minor modifications), depending on the catalog year. Take a photo of the cabinet rails with the drawer removed and show it to us.
Alternatively, check if the rail is identical to this one:
Blum Tandembox cabinet rail 578 plus BLUMOTION
Item No.: 89111612000

Another option would be to replace the entire drawer slide with a new one from Maximera. It generally fits into the cabinet, but you will likely need to drill new holes in the cabinet and on the front panel.

IKEA-Experte6 Jan 2017 16:27Hello, you need to click on Photo Gallery in the top right corner.
Do you no longer have the receipt? You have a warranty on the drawer slides. After February 1st, you can no longer make purchases, so make your claim immediately.

Well, when I complained about a rail after just six months, I was told that items bought during the clearance sale actually only have a 2-year warranty, and that period must have expired by now.
But IKEA expert, you’re right, it’s worth a try.
Maybe I’ll drive over to the Netherlands. They have always been more lenient with spare parts there.
I remember boxes in front of the goods issue area where you could help yourself.
Maybe they still do that.
I took some pictures, but unfortunately, they appear upside down in the gallery. It must be the iPad.
One is of the rail, and the other is this rare spring. I just don’t know how to include them in the post.
I simply can’t imagine that nobody else has had these break.
Sure, the trash bin and utensil drawer get more frequent use than the others, and our household is always busy with daily cooking. But others must be in the same situation, right?
I’ll head out tomorrow and see what I can achieve.

IKEA-Experte7 Jan 2017 00:05When did you purchase them? For all items acquired up to August 2014, a 25-year warranty must be provided.
Before the launch of Metod, there was an FAQ that stated:
8. Is the 25-year warranty for FAKTUM still valid after Metod has been introduced?
Our FAKTUM kitchens are still covered by a 25-year warranty from the date of purchase. IKEA grants this warranty in accordance with the warranty terms and conditions.
