Hello everyone,
I am considering buying a Brimnes chest of drawers from IKEA online. Since I don’t have much experience with the IKEA online store, especially regarding shipping and product quality when ordering, I would like to know: What are your experiences with purchasing IKEA Brimnes furniture online?
I am particularly interested in how the shipping process works, whether the packaging and condition of the items are usually satisfactory, and how reliable the delivery is, including the time frame. Additionally, I would like to know if there is sufficient information or support available for assembly questions when buying the furniture online instead of in-store.
I would also appreciate any tips on potential pitfalls that might come up when ordering IKEA Brimnes furniture online.
Thank you in advance!

Good morning,
I would like to add that IKEA often offers in-store pickup as an option when shopping online. This can be useful if you are unable to coordinate a delivery at home or if delivery times are too long.
For the Brimnes series, I have also noticed that availability can vary depending on the location, which affects the delivery time.
If you are not very experienced with DIY, I recommend booking assembly assistance or arranging for someone to help you, especially with larger items.
Overall, a satisfactory online shopping experience at IKEA.

The packaging was really sturdy, nothing was broken or scratched.I wouldn’t be too impressed by that. These dressers are mass-produced, and there is always some variation in quality.
I think you shouldn’t rely entirely on the online service since you can also check out alternatives and get direct feedback in person at the Ikea store.

One criticism is sometimes that the shipping costs are relatively highExactly, and that annoys me too, especially when customer service is not very flexible when you ask questions. You pay a lot for the convenience, which doesn’t always work smoothly.
Honestly, in my opinion, buying online only makes sense if you really don’t have time to visit the store.

If you have questions about the assembly, I can usually help – just ask here.Thank you for the offer, that’s very kind! Could you also tell me if it is common for parts to be missing or damaged upon delivery with the Brimnes series? I want to plan my order so that I can respond quickly if needed.
Also, I’m curious if there are any special considerations regarding the warranty when buying online – does it apply the same way as with an in-store purchase?
I appreciate any experience you can share!

Can anyone tell me if it’s common for parts to be missing or damaged upon delivery with the Brimnes series? From my research and experience, it is rather rare for parts to be missing. If it does happen, IKEA offers a straightforward replacement service – usually missing or damaged parts are delivered promptly.
Regarding the warranty: it corresponds to the statutory warranty and is the same as in-store. There are no differences between online and in-store purchases. It is important to keep the purchase receipt.
If you want to be safe, you can check the packages for damage before the delivery person leaves.
Just to add:
That’s very smart! Most of us just hoped everything would go smoothly, but with IKEA, you can usually get good support over the phone.
If something is missing or damaged, report it quickly – replacement parts usually arrive fast.
And since it’s about Brimnes, the parts are generally common, so it’s not a big hassle. 😉
