Good morning,
I urgently need help and found this forum. I need assistance... urgently. Last night, I bought two VÄRDE wall cabinets, 120cm x 60cm (47 inches x 24 inches). The carcasses are assembled, but how on earth do I attach the door opening mechanism? Do I have to drill holes in the side panels? Or are there pre-drilled holes like in other IKEA furniture?
I had new tiles installed on the walls over the weekend, and now I need to hang the cabinets to clear up the mess in my living room... please, please help me with my wall cabinets 🙂
Best regards

Bumblebee_543412 Jun 2012 13:20There are 2 rows of 6 holes each, arranged vertically... and two large holes vertically aligned (estimated 10cm (4 inches) apart).
Then there are two small holes, also vertical (estimated about 15cm (6 inches) apart), located a bit further back but still in front of the second row with the 6 vertical holes.
I would take a photo... but how? 😉

IKEA-Experte12 Jun 2012 13:34I didn’t look closely enough. There are not four but three holes, and I meant horizontal rows. By “in front” I mean when I am standing in front of the cabinet, close to it, near the flap, not the back panel.
It’s best to take a photo with a camera.

Image 15 shows the side panel without the fasteners... that’s where you can see what I mean.
From the front, two large holes vertically, then six holes vertically, then two narrow holes vertically, then six holes a bit larger again... and when I tighten the piece as shown in the picture, I have four holes free at the top, not three like in the picture.
The customer advisor at IKEA on the phone said he is confident and that I should screw the small thick screw from the front into the larger hole... but he cannot guarantee 100% that this will work.

IKEA-Experte12 Jun 2012 14:25I assume it is a standard hole pattern with 32 mm (1.25 inches) spacing. If only 3 holes remain free above, the fitting would need to be about 12 cm (5 inches) wide. If, as in your case, 4 holes are free, it would be around 6 cm (2.5 inches) wide, which seems more realistic to me.

At least the assembly of the second cabinet went much faster.
Thank you very much. Sending you a virtual hug!

Gemütlichkeit26 Jul 2012 11:54This wall cabinet looks nice. It would also match well with the white tiles in my kitchen.
I can’t find the VÄRDE wall cabinet 120x60 on the IKEA website. May I ask which IKEA store you bought the wall cabinets from? My nearest IKEA is 45 minutes away, and I don’t want to make the trip for nothing.
Online, I can’t seem to tell which IKEA stores still offer this wall cabinet.
