Hello everyone,
At the moment, I am looking for a company that offers steel and glass hinged doors, commonly referred to as "loft doors" nowadays, in the Bavaria area, including installation.
So far, I have found a supplier from Ahrensburg whose model "Stahllofttür Pura" matches what I am looking for. However, there might be competitive offers closer to the construction site. Unfortunately, the local locksmiths and metalworkers around here do not seem to provide such products.
Perhaps someone has dealt with the same issue before.
I would appreciate any suggestions.
Best regards

I can highly recommend the company Bichler Türenwerk in Berg im Gau. A carpenter specializing in high-quality doors. Our pivot door is made of wood, coated in black – making it significantly lighter to handle than metal. Visually, there is hardly any difference – everyone is surprised that the base material is actually wood. In the photo, the work is not fully completed yet, as unfortunately the plastering was not done neatly. The door swings freely on both sides.

That one really looks very stylish too, @Listhom!
Was the door cheaper because the frame is made of wood? It was actually less expensive than a steel door we had requested, though I’m not sure why – it was going to suit us much better anyway. However, I don’t think these doors are ever really “cheap.” For our size of 200 x 287 cm (79 x 113 inches), the price seemed reasonable compared to others I’ve seen. If you’re in the area, I definitely recommend visiting the showroom in person – they have a great display.

Ah, that’s a great tip! You can usually combine the one-hour drive with a nice outing. Fortunately, the door we’re considering isn’t urgent and only needs to be installed once the house is completely finished. I’ll definitely make a note of the company with the showroom. Exactly! From my own experience, I can only recommend getting informed about these matters early on. Often, you have to take certain things into account during the construction or finishing phase to ensure the process goes smoothly. We’ve learned it’s better to always think one step ahead. And the waiting times are extremely long 😉
