Hello,

we want to plaster the underside of our carport as well. The battens are made of wood, and plaster carrier boards are to be installed. Which boards are most suitable for this? Soft fiberboard? Our builder is a bit concerned that the plaster might crack. I have often read that eaves are also plastered. Isn't that basically the same principle?

@Alessandro Thanks for the picture. Do you still know the thickness of the plaster baseboards? Ideally, maybe the brand as well?

The boards are from STEICO with a thickness of 60mm (2.4 inches)

Thank you. Was there a specific reason you chose 60mm (2.4 inches)? Can any type of plaster be applied to this plaster carrier board, or does it require a specific brand or system?

My site manager seems to have little experience in this area, so I’m asking.

Unfortunately, I can’t answer that for you. I fully relied on my carpenter here.

It is a masonry carport integrated into the house.
That’s why the same appearance should be created everywhere.

@Alessandro Do you have a picture of the left side of the garage when looking at it from the front? I would like to know how you covered and plastered the rafter ends there. Best regards

Hello @Alessandro, I also have a few questions taking this opportunity. We also have an ETICS (external thermal insulation composite system) using wood fiber insulation boards (Gutex), and our painter/plasterer’s costs got a bit out of hand. The difference between the first and second quotes and the current cost estimate was enough to keep me awake for two nights. We have now found a solution, though. Still, could you please share some figures and details on what you paid for plastering, reveal construction, window sills, and perimeter insulation? Even better if you can specify which system (Sto?), plaster type, manufacturer of the windowsills, etc.

If you prefer not to reply publicly, feel free to send me a private message (if I’m already allowed to receive them).
