Hello,

we want to plaster the underside of our carport as well. The battens are made of wood, and plaster carrier boards are to be installed. Which boards are most suitable for this? Soft fiberboard? Our builder is a bit concerned that the plaster might crack. I have often read that eaves are also plastered. Isn't that basically the same principle?

@Alessandro Do you have a photo of the left side of the garage when looking at it from the front? I would like to know how you covered and plastered the rafter tails there. Best regards

This is the only photo I found. Later, a plaster carrier board was also installed as a finishing layer there.

Two-story house under construction with brick walls; wooden balcony overhang, ladder leaning against the wall.

Hello @Alessandro, I also have a few more questions while we’re at it. We also have an external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS) made of wood fiber insulation boards (Gutex), and our painter/plasterer’s costs got somewhat out of control. The difference between the first and second quotes and the current cost estimate was enough to keep me up at night for two days. We have now found a solution. Still, could you please share some numbers and facts about what your plaster, reveal profiles, window sills, and perimeter insulation cost? Even better, with details about the system (Sto?), type of plaster, manufacturer of the window sills, etc.

If you prefer not to reply publicly, feel free to send me a private message (if that’s allowed already?).

Unfortunately, I don’t have a detailed cost breakdown. The carport was part of the general contractor’s contract.
